GREATWORK PARK, U.K. (APRIL 15th, 2019) – The 2019 British GT Championship gets underway at Oulton Park in Cheshire, UK, this coming Easter weekend and the Multimatic Mustangs are ready to race! Since announcing its British GT entry at the end of last year the Multimatic Motorsports team has been testing its championship-winning Ford Mustang GT4s, along with a few different drivers and the line-up for Oulton Park has now been confirmed.

The #15 Mustang will be raced by Sebastian Priaulx (GB) and Multimatic regular Scott Maxwell (CAN) throughout the 2019 season in a driver pairing with the largest age gap in the series. It’s important to Multimatic to develop young talent and Priaulx will learn a great deal from veteran racer Maxwell.

“I’m feeling positive and confident that Scott and I can have a good result at Oulton Park,” said Priaulx. “We’ve had some good tests now and I feel right at home in the Mustang and with the Multimatic team. Oulton Park is a good track for me. It’s a real driver’s track; fast and twisting and I’ve won there twice before too. The Mustang should go well at Oulton as it is strong on downforce and, of course, it has plenty of grunt to power out of the corners. Let’s hope we can get the season off to a great start.”

The #19 Mustang will be raced by a variety of drivers in 2019, starting at Oulton Park with Jade Buford (US) and Chad McCumbee (US), fresh from their recent class win in the GT4 Mustang in the California 8 Hours round of the Intercontinental GT Challenge with PF Racing.

“This will be my first time out at Oulton Park but I’ve been spending time in the simulator to learn my way around,” said Buford. “British GT is also new to me but I’m sure we will be up to the task. The Mustang is a great car and I think it will be well suited to Oulton, with its mix of high speed and low speed point-and-shoot corners, which should play to our strengths. Let’s hope Chad and I can continue our winning ways!”

When Motor Sport magazine compiled its dream motorsport calendar last month, there was a reason why they chose the British GT season-opener at Oulton Park. It’s an incredible event for everyone involved. The spectators enjoy great views all around the circuit and the competitors get to enjoy racing on a fantastic track.

The event is spread out across the Easter weekend. Running starts on Saturday morning with the first of two free practice sessions, ahead of GT4 Qualifying just after 15:40hrs BST. The two one-hour races take place on Easter Monday at 11:15hrs and 15:35hrs BST. Both races will be streamed live on britishgt.com so settle in and enjoy some of the most competitive GT racing in the world!
